The weekend of 9-11 September 2005, I co-lead an OUTC trip to ride the Central Rail Trail. There were 20 riders with a good mix of locals and international students.

Friday night we camped at Lower Manor Burn Dam near Alexandra. There are few facilities there and the ground is rock hard.
Saturday started out very foggy, but otherwise perfect cycling conditions, cool and calm. But soon we were in the sun with views across the valley to the remants of snow on the hills. We rode to Wedderburn Taven, where we BBQed, drank and camped.
Sunday we rode all the way to Middlemarch.
